Amenities & Programming
The design of Norman B. Leventhal Park accommodates passive individual activities such as eating, reading, conversations and people watching.
Free WiFi
Free WiFi is available to visitors of the Park. The Park’s primary access point for WiFi serves the entire park, including the café. The SSID for our unsecured wireless network is Norman B Leventhal Park.
Four-Season Café
Sip is an owner-operated cafe serving great coffee and a menu of soup, salads and sandwiches on artisan breads featuring locally grown produce, as well as beer and wine. Enjoy the outdoor seating. Sip Cafe is open weekdays from 6:30 am to 9 pm. Sip can be rented for private events on evenings and weekends.
Seat Cushions
To encourage park visitors to lounge on The Norman B. Leventhal Park’s Great Lawn, our green seat cushions may be borrowed midday, Monday through Friday during the summer, from a cart located at the south end of the lawn.
Library On The Lawn and Lawn Games
Something to read is the perfect complement to our famous seat cushions. We welcome our book cart to the Park midday, Monday through Friday during the summer. Borrow a book for an hour or a week. Please feel free to donate reading materials – just leave them on the cart. There is no schedule for our Lawn Games; we have chess, checkers, and cornhole – which are put out in good weather.
Summer Midday Music
Enjoy the sounds of local musicians who regularly play with such venerable ensembles as the Boston Pops, Boston Ballet, Handel & Haydn Society, and Boston Lyric Opera, as well as jazz musicians and vocalists, with styles ranging from Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven to Broadway, Dixieland, and Jazz.
Each summer we post the Midday Music schedule on our Park Calendar.
Free Summer Fitness Programs
We successfully debuted free yoga classes in 2012, and launched our successful free fitness program, called P.O. Fitness, in 2013. The class details are shown on our Park Calendar each season.
